Céad Míle Pixels!

11th November 2009
Rosy Days buys a piece of Tyrone GAA history…so can you!

Céad Míle Pixels

A first within the GAA, this is a web-based approach to funding which gives everyone, at any level and in any place, the chance to make – and mark – their contribution to the GAA.

www.clubtyrone.com has on-line pictures of Tyrone GAA legends of the past and present, each picture is made up of 100,000 pixels, and each block of pixels is on sale from as little as £5. Every time a pixel is sold, the buyer dedicates it to someone or something: you could put your own name on the pixels; or your Club’s name; or you could buy them as a christmas present for someone !

Images posted on the site will be maintained for 5 years but the best is ….ultimately what you see on screen will be transferred to a magnificent piece of public art, placed in a prominent position close to the main building. How cool is that !

What are the funds for ??
The Club Tyrone Garvaghey project aims to raise funds to support the development of a fully-integrated Tyrone County GAA “heart-and-soul”, bringing together all aspects of gaelic games and culture. Development of the facility is going to cost £6.5m and will ultimately provide:
* Five full-sized, fully-floodlit sand-carpet GAA pitches
* A full-sized “4G” floodlit, artificial pitch and a drills area
* Full team preparation; changing; and development facilities
* County GAA administration; meeting space; and archives
* Recreational; cultural; and heritage space and resources
* Spectator facilities and significant car-parking
